Amerie - More Than Love ft. Fabolous
I love Amerie as an artist. She's soulful, but mellow at the same time and to me..she is the epitiome of an R&B singer..This video sparks much interest as well, as it shows the various hot spots of Time Square NY and Amerie/Fab's fashionable attire.
In my opinion, she doesn't get the recognition she deserves.
Ms.Bowers & her first Collection of "Ashanti Terreah"
Here we have Ashanti with well known fashion designer/icon Marco Hall.
Hall as designed for Rihanna, Andre J, Amanda Lepore, and more, the Div-o
has also been on the cover of Vixen Magazine. As you can see, the young designer is currently taking note!
MEET THE ARTIST:
20-yr-old Ashanti T. Bowers
The chic fashionista from Jersey is already making a name for herself. After endless hours of working on her sewing machine, this diva managed to produce her very first collection for her line called, Ashanti Terreah. The premier for collection took place at a fall fashion show this October in Paterson, N.J. Ms. Ashanti started designing during her Junior year in high school, and made her mark when she won 1st place in the Union High School Fashion Show. With eccentric style and a city girl flair, this desginer stands out and makes sure that her artwork does too. Go Cinderella!
The designer with a few of the models before the fashion show
Here we have one of the models sporting an Ashanti Terreah velvet olive pin skirt with a peach corest impressioned top.
Lady in red! add a black skinny belt over this dress, and you are good to go.
(description on the picture at the bottom). The dress is cut in a way to show off the model's back. Fierce!
Quite stylish if I do say so myself! The red high waisted pants added to the white top zipped top.
Sheer sleeveless crop top with a tight yellow skirt. Grey and black shoes to gave it an accent.
The artist with some funky-fresh Ray Ban glasses on.
Ladies, front zipped dresses are definitely it!
Ms. Bowers also made the white laced dress that she's wearing. Sharp!
Funky dressed to impressed and ready to party...This outfit gives off a cool street wear vibe.. check out the washed jean skirt with a mustard A.T off the shoulder zipper embroidered top. The black ankle boots went perfectly.
Work! This gold, skin tight one-sleeve snake-like printed dress is very Rihanna-ish) This A.T piece was made to be worn to any modelesque event.
BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THE SPRING COLLECTION OF
Ashanti Terreah
The next fashion show will take place at LIU (Long Island University) in Brooklyn NY...Spring 2011!

Lil Kim - Black Friday (Nicki Minaj Diss) [Audio] Hot Or Not
What's going on with my ladies in the hip hop game? You have the legendary Lil Kim the Queen Bee, and Rookie (yet talented) Nicki the Barbie "beefin?" I mean sheesh..folks need to lighten up.
I'm sure many were waiting for this day to come, after all, a beef between two of the hottest female lyricists was bound to conjure up...historically speaking..there's always a "controversial" rap battle between two influential artistists in the same category...am I right, or am I right.
So who are YA'LL for? Brooklyn's finest the Queen Bee, or Queen's Nicki Lewinski??
...As for mwuah..umm, I personally don't care to be quite honest..it's just the latest "hot thing" in the industry..so why not blog it..right :)

Official Video: Willow Smith | WHIP MY HAIR
Official Video: Willow Smith WHIP MY HAIR
The new Roc Nation member, 9-year-old icon, and daughter of two influential icons of Hollywood; Willow Smith, is making her way to fame by BEING HERSELF. The young pop star is marking her territory and claiming her position in the industry by displaying bold trends and out-of -this-world hairstyles. Fierce-ing-ton is what I call it.
Keep it up little one ; )

90s Baby!

OKay, so000, anyone who really knows me, know that the 1990s is my favorite Era.
Music: this was a time when jazz and hiphop intertwined, and conscience music was heavily advocated. A Tribe Called Quest, Camp lo, Digable Planets, Rakim, De La Soul, SWV, Janet Jackson...the list goes on..
Fashion..I really respect the creativity people contributed to the styles. The baggy jeans, flamboyant shirts, the hats, big boots, bandannas.
Lifestyle: This was the generation where many had their own sense of flavor and swag...Oh and remember the dance moves..SMOOTHH haha...the songs embodied a certain rhythm that people just wanted to vibe too. ( I become a bit nostalgic when I reminisce..i know -__-)
Instrument of the time: the SAXOPHONE! Kenny G "Careless Whisper" ..he murdered that song..I swear I wanted to take sax lessons after I heard this song. Loved it.
If I had a time machine I swear I would revisit this era (at least I would be old enough to go to a few house parties, and even drop a hit single ft. Q tip : ) lol

Networking!!
Cct 2, 2010
The most significant thing I learned today, was networking. Althogh there were some minor setbacks on the trip to D.c, and we didn't really get a chace to be apart fo the march, I did get a chace to meat some really intellgient young ladies from Chapel Hill, UNC. They taught me the importance of not being afraid to go up to people and begin a conversation

a course called Mass media & Society
Expectations. Well, as a person who soaks up information similar to a sponge soaks up water, I intend to get a lot out this course. I know this may sound vague, but seriously, as a communication major with intentions on building myself up in the world of the arts, there is no other option. Modestly, I must say that I am an active blog reader, and I may browse through a few articles posted in the New York Times occasionally, but my "sponge" of knowledge has yet to be filled! I want to know the insight on music, the master minds of demographics, the genius behind eccentric advertisement. So back to my expectations..well that's a few, but there's much more to the realm called media that's waiting to be unveiled!
